Britain’s Working Palace:
Where Majesty Meets History

Welcome to Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of His Majesty King Charles III and a centrepiece of the British monarchy since 1837. This majestic building, with its cream and golden hues, stands proudly at the end of The Mall in Westminster.

The palace boasts 775 rooms and the largest private garden in London, but it’s the striking facade with its familiar balcony that draws millions of visitors each year. This very balcony is where the Royal Family appears during significant occasions, from royal weddings to national celebrations.

During the summer months, whilst the King is at Balmoral, visitors can tour the State Rooms, experiencing first-hand the remarkable collection of art, furniture and decorative objects amassed by generations of monarchs. The Changing of the Guard ceremony, performed by the Queen’s Guard in their distinctive red tunics and bearskin hats, takes place on select days and offers a magnificent display of British pageantry.

Don’t miss the Victoria Memorial, standing proudly outside the palace gates – its marble monument and fountains serve as both a gathering place for visitors and a tribute to Queen Victoria, who was the first monarch to reside here.
